Alessandro Fratta was born in Rome in 1961, he studied music and flute with M° Giovanni Gatti and under his direction he took the degree in flute at Conservatorio S. Cecilia of Rome. Soon after he took the degree in History of Music at the faculty of literature of University " La Sapienza"of Rome.  He attended the international specializing courses held by Maestri: C. Klemm, S. Gazzelloni (diploma of high merit of Accademia Chigiana di Siena), T. Wye, M. Conti ( Flute ); B. Canino (chamber music), M. Hantai, M. Gatti e Fr. Theuns (traversiere and classic flute). In 1984 he came out second in the Competition for young diplomati organized by the Conservatorio of Latina.  In 1988 he was invited to represent Italy in occasion of the First Internatinal Course for winds Ensamble " Europa Musica". He recorded for the R.A.I., for the Hungarian Radio and for other private networks. He interpreted many pieces of music in their first performance during contemporary music shows. He teaches since 2010 flute at the high school "Farnesina" in Rome and in 2001 he founded, in collaboration with the association ViviAmo la Musica, the young orchestra "Musica Verticale". He is the current conductor of this orchestra and, with it, he has recently been invitedto give a concert at la Sala 700 of Auditorium Parco della Musica in occasion of the X European feast of music. With the orchestra Musicians Union has participated in the recording of several soundtracks of films written and directed by Ennio Morricone; He has collaborated with the Orchestra "The Philharmonic of Rome" directed by Uto Ughi, with Res Musica Orchestra and with the orchestra Le Muse and on several occasions has performed solo concerts of Vivaldi, Boccherini, C. Ph. E. Bach, J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Fr. Devienne, G.B. Pergolesi etc. also he played in the Sixth Havelländische Musikfestspilele in Germany and XV Interfest of Bitola in Macedonia, and the quartet Bolling's Suite has been invited to the 13th Jazz Festival at Villa Celimontana. Hisuntiring activity goes from the musical performance to the research of flute pieces of chamber music. He, very often, plays the flute with copies of original instruments and works, with a lot of care, at the philological analysis of the scores and historical context.  He has been often called to be part of the jury in several musical competitions and he has been flute master in international specializing courses since 1995.
